One Verse before I sleep
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2005 | Gay Bloggers | No Comments
I stayed in and wanted to make it a day for me to sit down, listen to music, and write poetry. I ended up watching Star Trek: Deep Space nine with the roommate, and an hour at the gym (half hour on treadmill, the rest on weights and stretches). I managed to write two stanzas, and feel like I can go no further.
To know myself is to see myself,
Dirt, smut, and all.50 gigabytes of porn
Palmer gets Fucked
Fortune Nookie
Cum Sloppy Buttholes.
I will try to write soem more before I sleep. but hopefully I cna get past this writer’s block.
Our Queer Slanted Eyes

George Takei, who played Lt. Sulu on the Original Star Trek for three seasons and 6 movies, has come out of the closet.

Takei (IMDB biography)was one of the first Asian Americans to be on a recurring role on U.S. Television. His family was interned with other Japanese and Japanese Americans during World War II, which makes his recognition in our times all the more important. Now 63, George is still acting, and prominent in the Asian-American activist community.
You go, George!
Princess Chicken, indeed.

Sorry you had to stare at Princess Chicken for so long. I mean, I just had to share the new Healthy Choice flavor of the month, courtesy of the roommate. I am sure you can find this “authentic” dish at your local “authentic” house of Asian cuisine. how do they come up with these names, anyway?
Perez Hilton is keeping me very, very amused, as I follow his antics and get updated on my celebrity news at the same time. Perez, you’ve come so far in the few months since you’ve started! You started small once. And now you’re fabulous! I see you on Logo, and wonder what you think about Jason Bellini! I got excited when you met Lindsay, and when you met your (faux) cousin Paris!
On the homefront, it is beginning to freeze here in the ATL. A cold front came by, and made me break out my leather and Winnie the Pooh sweater. On one of the freezing days while in the car with Herman (who shall henceforth be referred to as the Princess Consuela), we both saw a blonde boy running around the GaTech campus in Midtown with only very small blue shorts, hard nipples, and dignity on him. I salute the brave boy. And his shorts.
Ricky Martin is sooo hot. And he still looks sooo gay:

I just got a taste of what it would be like to go clubbing in Puerto Rico. Latin night at the Metro was just I thought it would be, a bunch of latino men and boys, their admirers, and fag hags all in one small enclosed space.
I stood on Peachtree outside of the Metro, right next to that “happenin’” club Vision, having to make sure inebriated some people did not wandered off. Now I’m not exactly in all my senses myself, after a lime-vodka drink and two yummy watermelon martinis, but it’s good to keep a level head and balance.
Next weekend, more fun.
My (s)Hero Helen!

I found this report on Model Minority on a wonderful lady I had the fortune to meet in my lifetime. Helen Zia, journalist, activist, feminist, and writer, is a personal hero of mine. I met her during a special event in the University of Miami hosted by the Asian American student groups on campus for the anthology “Screaming Monkeys : Critiques of Asian American Images” (Coffee House Press) . I actually had dinner with her and had a very cordial conversation before I actually found out and realized who she was. She spoke to us as a group, was knowledgeable, and managed to intertwine Asian-American and gay & lesbian activism, herself a lesbian.
Her book, “Asian American Dreams : The Emergence of an American People” (Helen Zia) is a delight to read for any queer Asian-American activist.
I was literally swooning over her accomplishments and when she spoke, she spoke with resolve and knowledge. Besides, I love her dyke hair! Forget Rosie, Helen rocked the dyke cut first!
I’m not an addict.

Contrary to popular belief and my last post, I am NOT addicted to poppers or to any drugs at the moment. I did have a phase back last spring in which yes, I was addicted and highly dependent on them to enjoy myself, but that has gone and past. I believe in using them on certain occasions, and keeping a bottle in my drawer with my other “novelty” items, kind of like part of a gay man’s survival kit.
I mean, every gay man has their survival kit, right? Cher CDs for “emergency gay recharging”, condoms, lube, hand-sanitizing lotion, and anything to help you embrace your faggy self.
