I called in sick to work today. My right foot finally gave out and what I thought was a minor sprain was aggravated to the point where I developed visible bruising on Saturday night, and thought I was having a gout attack on my other foot.

It’s bad enough that I am the youngest case my doctor has ever seen of gout, but to have gout affect a second part of the body? I have all the makings of a great medical case. On the good side, the doctor did say that my cholesterol was only slightly bad, and that my sugar was good. The only real negative, which confirmed the gout, was the double/triple levels of uric acid in my blood.

So the crazy workaholic that I was, I thought that I would be well enough to go to work today, and was ready to hobble on over. But the pain getting out of bed was enough to get me to call in. And the manager thought I was kidding.

So now here I am, resting my foot to the best of my ability, not picking up heavy objects, stressing over shenanigans, and just hoping that yes, my foot is better, so I can go back to work, because, tres terrible, there is so much to do.
