I Wear My Heart On My Sleeve

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005 | perpetually single

I just got into the wickedest heated discussion with a dear friend about the superiority of particular operating systems. I was typing so furiously into the chat window that I made five typos in one message alone. I mixed nouns around, and was hardly coherent, feeling like I was foaming at the mouth.

Yes, I was also trying to say hello.

I guess what is frustrating is the fact that I am recognizing the fact that I am growing into someone I would have not imagined myself to be years ago. Someone with strong opinions and who might even take initiative.

A year ago, I would not have been bold enough and pursued someone I was interested in on my own. I might even say that I might not have been the rabid tech-nazi that I am today. Strong opinions, indeed. I call it a strong belief in my own judgement.

It’s like when you watch an episode of the Barefoot Contessa, and know that it is just a pale imitation of Nigella’s shows.

Speaking of cooking shows, I got struck with the biggest craving for fried chicken while perusing the paper periodicals back home in Lawrenceville, noticing the ads for Fried Chicken fast food joints, and doing nothing about the craving except eating lots of traditional beef dumplings, which helped curb the desire to engorge on yummy Southern goodness.

And speaking of chicken, Joey and I finally had a talk about present events and let’s just stay as friends.
