My bad short term memory.

I have a bad short-term memory. I forget names, places, and facts that I would like, or need to, remember. Sometimes I suspect my mind of taking an impromptu holiday, deciding that no, I don’t really need to know who it is who bought me the drink that night.

Case in Point:

James invited me to his place for a few drinks after I finished up some stuff at Outwrite. His friend (For the life of me, I can’t remember his name! Tom, Ted?) joined us, and we had a few drinks, talked, and ended up watching some television.

After enjoying an episode of the Nanny, and I think it was in the middle of watching the Banger Sisters, that film with the aging Susan Surandon and Goldie Hawn, that my hand found the friend’s ear and chest, and James found his hand on my leg. James ended up not joining us, but the friend and I ended up messing around on the couch, missing the final conclusion of the movie. At 4 in the morning, he drove me back to my apartment. We exchanged numbers, and I know he’ll be leaving for Houston next Monday.

I’ll be calling James today to apologize for my horrible houseguest manners, and possibly get the friend’s name.
