Music Makes Me Smile like a Chesire Cat.

Lately, I’ve been walking down the street with a shit-ass grin on my face, wider than I usually would have been. No, I haven’t been getting some lovin’ or anything (if anything it was meaningless and was on Friday night), I’ve just been listening to music. Sometimes, when you walk down a street with your iPod, a song can come on that just surprises you, but makes you smile in an inner glee. Recently, these are 10 songs have made me grin, and if I am alone on the sidewalk, sing out loud:

  1. Chemical Brothers - Where Do I Begin (iTunes link)
  2. Allen Ginsberg - America (with Tom Waits) (iTunes link)
  3. Bjork - Desired Constellation (iTunes link)
  4. Queen - I Want To Break Free (iTunes link)
  5. Le Tigre - I’m So Excited (iTunes link)
  6. Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) - I’m Going Home
  7. Eric Prydz - Call On Me (iTunes link)
  8. Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) (iTunes link)
  9. O-Zone - Dragostea Din Tei (iTunes link)
  10. The Postal Service - Such Great Heights (iTunes link)

That was just a spattering of a few things that have been keeping me content despite my hectic schedule. Music is my opiate, and it helps drown out the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

I’m currently reviving my Friendster profile… anybody wanna add me?

Daily Gay Confession:

It was raining on Monday when I got off work, so I spent 2 hours looking for a decent umbrella for my needs. In the end, after testing umbrellas out for sturdiness, wind-protection, and overall aesthetic factor, I bought a Brookstone golf umbrella. Of course, once I left the mall, it stopped raining.

Stan, enjoyed chatting with you last night. You have excellent taste in literature and music (that’s a great list in this post!). Hope we’ll chat again soon or I’ll see you on the job.

And since you are a fan of Edvard Munch, I thought I would aim you to this poem that was published in The Harrow:

After spending 2 hours, I hope the umbrella at least accessorizes well.
